... on a semé le gazon, et fait des bouquets avec les filles ; les oeillets de poètes sont en pleines fleurs, ça met beaucoup de couleur dans le jardin ! Les deux journées avaient été très chargées, il a fallu bien décaillouter, ratisser, passer le rouleau (on voit Jean en pleine action sur la photo), ratisser à nouveau, enlever des cailloux (on n'a que ça, des cailloux, de toutes formes, toutes couleurs, toutes tailles), semer, repasser le rouleau... je me souviens que j'étais vraiment moulue. Et que le lendemain je voulais me coucher à 21 heures pour bien récupérer, et c'est là que le tuyau a lâché à la cave, heureusement on s'en est aperçus très vite et on n'a eu aucun dégât important ; mais il a fallu, avec l'aide des pompiers, tout sortir de la cave et évacuer l'eau, on en a eu jusqu'à 23 heures, et en remontant à l'étage on a retrouvé nos deux puces surexcitées, sautillant et criant "Nous on s'amuse bien !", et elles avaient mis un de ces bazars...Cette nuit-là j'ai très mal dormi et le matin heureusement je n'avais pas cours, je suis restée au lit et on n'a pas réveillé les filles, mais l'après-midi je n'arrivais toujours pas à émerger !! Mercredi /jeudi on a fini tout le nettoyage, le séchage de tout ce qu'il y avait dans la cave ; vendredi j'ai dû carburer pour finir toutes mes corrections, faire toutes les moyennes, tous les bulletins, mais j'ai tout fini à temps, ouf, maintenant je me consacre à beaucoup de désherbage dans le jardin !
Hier nous étions invités à l'anniversaire d'Ariane, (deux ans) une petite fille qui habite dans notre lotissement, il y avait plein de monde, et pour une fois c'était une vraie après-midi de détente et de convivialité. Ca fait du bien !
Aujourd'hui, j'ai désherbé toute la descente de garage ; elle est en graviers, donc ce n'est pas un travail super-pénible ; le temps était frais, il pleuvait très légèrement, c'était très agréable. Et là je me demande si on ne va pas faire une promenade pour que les filles puissent courir et se défouler, elles sont en train de jouer dans la cuisine et ça déménage !
Last week-end we sowed the lawn, and cut sweet williams to put in the girls' bedrooms ; they're in full bloom and make the garden very colourful ! Those two days had been very busy, we had to take out the stones, rake, roll (Jean is at it in the picture), then rake again, take out more stones (we have LOADS of them in every shape, size and colour), then sow, roll again... I remember I was really shattered, and I wanted to go to bed at 9pm the next day ; that's when that pipe broke in the cellar but fortunately we noticed really quickly and we had no major damage. But we were up until 11 pm and with the help of the firemen, we took out everything, swept all the water out (they even had a special vacuum) and when we got upstairs we saw our pumpkins running around, shouting "We're having fun !", and they had messed up their rooms... That night I slept badly, fortunately I had no classes in the morning so I stayed in bed and we didn't wake the girls either, but by the afternoon I still wasn't properly awake ! Wednesday / Thursday we kept drying / cleaning the basement and everything that was in it ; Friday I had to really work hard to finish grading all my last papers, calculate the averages, write all the term reports but everything got done on time, and now I can indulge in weeding the garden !
Yesterday we were invited to Ariane's birthday, she's a 2-year-old little girl from the neighborhood ; there were lots of people, and for once in a long while we spent a true nice, relaxing and friendly afternoon, and it did us a lot of good !
Today I weeded the whole garage path, it's gravelled so the job was easy ; the weather was cool, a very fine rain was pouring and it was pleasant. And now I wonder if we should go take a walk with the girl so they can run and get rid of their extra energy for they're playing in the kitchen now and they're making a lot of noise !
