Les vacances 3 / Our holidays 3 : with Marie-Françoise and Patrick

Nous sommes parties pour trois jours avec Laure, car Jean avait emmené Elise en camping (une promesse faite l'année d'avant et qui tombait à pic car elles commençaient à s'être trop vues et à se chamailler), et j'avais aussi promis de l'emmener toute seule à Arc et Senans comme je l'avais fait avec Elise.

Nous avons couchsurfé chez Marie-Françoise et Patrick, un couple très sympathique, et j'avais envie d'aller chez eux à cause de leur jardin...

We went away for three days with Laure, because Jean had taken Elise camping (a promise made the year before and that came at the perfect timing, because the girls had seen too much of each other and had started to bicker a lot) - and I had promised too, to go to Arc et Senans just with Laure, just like I had done with Elise.

We surfed Marie-Françoise and Patrick's couch, a very nice couple, and I wanted to see them because of their garden...

Un ruisseau descend sous le pont, et quand on s'approche, on entend les grenouilles qui plongent ! There's a stream running under the bridge, and as we get closer, we can hear the frogs jumping into the water !

Le ruisseau arrive dans le bassin, plein de beaux poissons, et que Patrick a creusé lui-même, à la pelle.

The brook goes down into the beautiful pond, full of beautiful fish, and that Patrick dug himself, just with a spade !

Laure était ravie de nourrir les poissons - Laure was more than happy to feed the fish

De magnifiques nénuphars - gorgeous waterlilies

Quels beaux bambous, et ce magnifique miscanthus ! What beautiful bamboos, and this wonderful miscanthus !

Le jardin est délimité par une falaise, où pousse un lierre, où s'accroche une glycine...

The garden is delimited by a cliff where ivy and wisteria grow...

Laure a pris cette photo - d'ailleurs elle ne quittait plus l'appareil et mitraillait à droite et à gauche. Mais il faut dire que les poissons bien centrés dans le reflet des arbres est très réussi !

Laure took this picture, and wouldn't let go of the camera - took pictures right and left without stopping. But I have to say that the fish centered in the reflexion of the trees in the water is a great effect !

Et elle s'est fait un ami pendant son séjour : un petit chat qui est sorti des taillis en miaulant à qui mieux mieux, et se frottait à nous sans cesse ! Il a été surnommé "pot de colle" et si on avait pu, on l'aurait bien emmené.

And she made a friend while we were there : a kitten who went out of the shrubs, meowing like mad, and constantly, and who just spent its time rubbing against our legs ! He was soon nicknamed "glue pot" (according to the French expression), and if we could have, we would have taken him home with us.
