cosmos, capucines et tournesol - ce dernier poussait dans une bassine, je l'ai repiqué ici, je suppose qu'Elise s'était amusée avec des graines. Elle les récolte souvent et me les sème aux 4 coins du jardin !

Cosmos, nasturtium and sunflower - the latter was growing in a basin, so I planted it here, I suspect that Elise had been playing with seeds at some point. She often collects them and then sows them all around the garden !

Quelques photos avant que les températures matinales ne descendent encore... dans quelques régions les gelées sont déjà là. Il faudra alors les arracher (je tenterai de garder les bégonias) ; bientôt le changement d'heure... mais on sent déjà le changement de rythme, les jours qui raccourcissent. Le corps se met en veilleuse, les nez commencent à couler, les gorges à picoter... Pause bien involontaire pour moi aujourd'hui : Laure a une angine. Je lui disais ce que je voulais elle répondait d'une petite voix "Oui" ; elle a dormi dans mes bras dans la salle d'attente chez le docteur, dans la même position que quand elle était bébé et que je la portais dans le foulard ; on a fait une sieste, on était bien, elle va beaucoup mieux et a bien joué avec sa soeur qui était absolument charmante en rentrant de l'école. Bref, une journée très paisible et calme, au rythme lent, et qui me donne envie de rester dans la chaleur de mon foyer, de faire des gâteaux, d'aller récolter des fruits et de faire des provisions pour l'hiver, de préparer un Noël intégralement "fait main", sans courir les magasins. Bref, le changement de saison se fait sentir ! J'aime cette transition où le froid n'est pas encore glacial et où les jours déclinent en douceur.

Here are a few pictures of the last annual flowers before the morning temperatures go down... in some places the morning frost is already there. I'll then have to tear them out, (except for the begonia) and soon we'll turn the clocks for winter time. But my body already feels the change of season, and we start to have running noses and sore throats... I had to take an unwilling break today, as Laure has pharyngitis. Whatever I told her, she answered "Yes" in a feeble voice (very unusual !) ; she slept in my arms in the doctor's waiting room, cuddled up in my arms the way she did when she was a baby, wrapped in the scarf tied in my back... We took a nap, we felt good, now she's all better and she played very nicely with her sister, who was charming when she got back from school... In short, a real nice and slow day, that makes me feel like staying in the warmth of my home, baking cakes, going gather fruits and store up for the winter, to get ready for Christmas but far from shops and the whole commercial humdrum, only with handmade gifts. Well, I can sure feel the change of season ! I love this period of transition where the cold isn't freezing yet and the days decline very slowly.
