Voici quelques photos que je voulais poster depuis longtemps, ou mes achats lors des journées des plantes, ou diverses choses et changements dans la maison.

Here is a medley of pictures I had been meaning to send, or what I bought at the various plant events we attended last week-end, or different things or changes at home.

Nos collègues canadiens, et les bons desserts que nous avons mangés ce soir-là - our Canadian colleagues, and all the delicious desserts we ate that night

Crêpe aux fruits rouges, glace vanille et noix de pécan - pancake with red berries, vanilla ice-cream and pecan nuts

On ouvre pour voir... HUUUUMMMM, que c'est appétissant ! - Let's open it just to see... YUMMY, how delicious does it look ?

Et ça c'est le dessert de ma collègue, qui m'aurait bien fait envie aussi ! Gratin aux framboises. - And this is the dessert my colleague took, that I would have liked to take as well ! Raspberry gratin.

Peu de temps après la rentrée, nous avons refait un restaurant avec notre assistante Jessica, qui est retournée aux US ce mardi. Je n'avais malheureusement pas l'appareil. Je ne suis pas rentrée les mains vides - et aucune collègue non plus d'ailleurs, car Jessica nous a offert des fleurs à chacune. C'est pas gentil ça ??? En tout cas j'ai bien pensé à elle mardi, j'espère qu'elle a fait bon voyage et que tout se passera bien pour elle, pour son nouveau début dans la vie. Je sais tout à fait ce qu'elle peut ressentir, je suis tout à fait passée par là...

Shortly after school had started again, we went back to the restaurant with our American assistant Jessica, who went back to the States this Tuesday. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera. None of us went home empty-handed, she gave everyone of us flowers. How sweet is that ? Anyway, I thought a lot about her on Tuesday, I hope she had a nice trip back home and I hope everything is going to be fine in her future, and for her new start in life... I totally understand how she feels, been there...

Aujourd'hui il fait de nouveau trop frais et mouillé pour jardiner. Nous avons donc, outils et perceuse en main, saisi l'occasion de faire différents petits accrochages qui attendaient depuis longtemps :

Today the weather was yet again too chilly and wet to go outside. So we grabbed our tools and hung some things that had been laying around, waiting for us to give them a home or a use, for a long time :

Sur le meuble de l'entrée, des crochets pour les écharpes (mais oui, on en a encore besoin !), sacs, etc.

On the closet in the hall, hooks to hang scarves (yes, we still need them !), bags, etc.

Une petite étagère dans le couloir, achetée chez Lemon & Thyme il y a au moins 6 mois, si ce n'est plus ! Les filles se sont immédiatement occupées d'y apporter une petite touche de décoration.

A wired shelf in the corridor, I bought it at a shop called Lemon & Thyme 6 months ago, if not longer ! The girls immediately added their little decorative touchL'applique que j'avais achetée chez Emmaüs pour 50 centimes, fait office de porte-cintres et porte-colliers ; il faut que je trouve une idée pour camoufler la partie où se vissait l'ampoule.

The little "lamp" I bought at Goodwill for 50 cents, now my jewelry displayer and serves as a hook for a hanger with my clothes for the next day ; I still have to find something to hide the screw where the bulb went.

Et dans le jardin : aruncus (barbe de bouc) et tiarella - and in the garden : aruncus and tiarella

Une petite jungle que je dois encore discipliner - il y a quelque part là-dedans une petite linaria qui est menacée d'étouffement !

A little jungle I have to organise - somewhere in there there is a small linaria that is threatened of extinction !

Une viola labradorica entre deux graminées (luzula nivea) - a "labradorica" violet between two luzula nivea

Une petite aire aménagée pour qu'une partie du jardin soit ordonnée et agréable à regarder - mon "évier" au jardin (les Flybabies comprendront !). Les deux plaques en marbre viennent aussi de chez Emmaüs, 1 euro pièce !

A little area I arranged so that this part of the garden should be pleasant to look at - the "shiny sink" in my garden (the Flybabies will understand !). The two marmor stepstones (?) come from Goodwill, 1 euro each !Derrière la maison, les choses commencent à prendre forme et grandir... par contre les allées et le reste du jardin derrière moi, c'est la fête aux mauvaises herbes !

At the back of the house, things start to fall into place and grow... but on the other hand the pathways and the rest behind me is just a party for weeds !Un de mes achats à Schoppenwihr : un chèvrefeuille arbustif. Il fleurit en hiver, j'ai hâte de voir et de sentir ça.

Something I bought in Schoppenwihr : a shrub honeysuckle (lonicera fragrantissima), that blooms in winter - looking forward to seeing and smelling it.
