Drôle de temps / Weird weather

Je me traîne depuis quelques semaines, j'ai du mal à aligner les mots, les pensées, à finir les copies, et à ne pas piquer du nez passé midi.
Pourtant tout avait bien commencé : j'avais souhaité de la pluie, et il a plu ! On est sortis désherber à tour de bras dans le jardin et observer avec ravissement les nouvelles floraisons. Quel bonheur !
Par contre je n'ai pas demandé les indésirables qui se sont invités au générique dans les jours qui ont suivi : le froid et la grêle, et les gros nuages qui ont longtemps caché le soleil !
Mon horloge biologique, affolée de ce retour express de l'automne, en a été toute chamboulée et ça a été bien difficile (les plantes aussi, après quelques semaines de températures estivales, retourner au froid, comme ça, certaines ont perdu leur beauté et leur bonne mine...)

I've been dragging myself for the past weeks, I can't make sentences, I can't think correctly, I have trouble finishing grading my papers and not falling asleep after lunchbreak.
Yet it all had started really well : I had wished for rain, and it came ! So we went out in the garden for a gigantic weeding party and to observe the new blooms.
Pure bliss !
But then unexpected and unwished for guests came into the picture in the following days : cold weather and hail, and big dark clouds that blocked the sun !
My biological clock went mad with this speedy return of autumn weather and it's been really hard (for my plants as well, after a few weeks of summerlike temperatures, being thrown back in the cold made some of them lose their beauty and rosy complexion...)

J'ai pris ces photos le 9 mai, après notre séance de remise en beauté du jardin (couper les bordures, tondre le gazon, biner et désherber). Je voulais encore semer, finir le coin potager, mais vu le temps qu'il a fait, j'ai tout reporté... et ces photos avaient été prises par la fenêtre. Je crois qu'on peut dire qu'aujourd'hui est un des rares jours où on peut à nouveau voir le soleil et où les températures sont acceptables.

I took these pictures on May 9th, after the "beauty treatment" the garden underwent (cut the borders, mow the lawn, hoe and weed). I wanted to sow flowers and finish working on our veggie patch but the weather didn't allow for this and we postponed everything... and I took these pictures from the window. I think that today is one of the rare days when the sun could again be seen and the temps were acceptable.

Hier j'ai vu que mon rosier Agnès qui avait démarré tout doucement avec 1 fleur dans sa prime enfance dans mon jardin, croule sous les boutons prêts à éclore !! Photos à venir bien sûr !

Yesterday I saw that my Agnès rosebush that had started off in my garden very slowly, with one single flower, 2 years ago, is now loaded with buds ready to bloom !! Pics of them to come, of course !
