On Saturday I got up very early instead of staying in bed and sleeping. As a result, at 8 in the morning I already felt worn out... but I didn't want to waste my week-end !
I had said I would join the Knitting Strasbourg for this day, but I didn't know what time I was supposed to show up and I had no other indications (even if I know very well where it is) and I found this lack of information very unsettling. That's me : if it's too vague or not very detailed, I don't feel the thing. So I had been wondering for a good moment already "to go or not to go ?" when Laure came to me (it was almost 9 already) and said something about wanting to spend a nice day with me. That's when I suggested that we go together to Strasbourg, just her and me, just for the sheer pleasure of it.
It seemed like a good compromise : I would pop in at the Knitting to introduce myself and say Hi, then we would resume our wandering in the city.

Laure was taking the train for the first time : she was delighted.

The bus line #20 doesn't exist anymore, so we took the #10 and walked a little... to the Krutenau, to a Greek restaurant where Jean and I used to go very often.

An assortment of cold appetizers, desserts, and fries for Laure... a good lunch.

I showed her one of the places I lived (I moved places within Strasbourg innumerable times, not to mention all the other occasions in my life !) Fourth or fifth third-floor window from the left.

And what a nice surprise, the whole Krutenau was out in the street for a huge flee market ! And how ironic : I only had 2.40 euros in cash, we had to go to the restaurant first before it got too late and we couldn't find a cash machine. So I didn't buy anything (though I saw some beautiful china...). Laure found herself two things, that I'll show you later.

We went to the Orangerie Park : we strolled around, went to see the animals... flamingoes, birds, a lynx... and this peacock who looked very restless. So we waited five minutes thinking : Will spread out his feathers or not ? A lady behind us got tired of waiting and told us she had never seem him do it and left. We
waited some more... then went on and were on the other side.

Of course that's when he started to show off. But all we could see was his rear end !

So we ran back to where we had come from, but people had gathered there to take pictures - so I send Laure with the camera to slip through the crowd, and she managed to snap a picture through the fencing.

A fountain, playing with the bubbles, what's better in a little girl's life ?

Then after a little utilitary shopping, we headed back home. Laure is happy with her day, her purchases, her mom. The next day with Elise is already scheduled, and during the summer we will go back there all together.
And oops, I forgot to drop by at the Knitting...
