Kew Gardens suite et fin / Kew Gardens last episode

Nous sommes dans la rocaille, et voilà que je vois une entrée vers autre chose (en l'occurence, un jardin qui ressemble à un énorme potager ornemental, mais comme Elise est à l'agonie je n'entre pas très loin et je fais quelques photos vite fait)

 

We left you in the Rock garden, and what do I see ? 

 The entrance to the Plant family beds, like a huge ornemental potager, but since Elise is on her last legs, I just pop in and snap a few pics around me

Le temple d'Eole, d'où on a une vue panoramique / Aeolus's temple from which you have a panoramic view

 On fait l'impasse sur la vue panoramique, mais quand je retournerai à Londres avec Laure, on prendra la visite dans l'autre sens et on en profitera (on ira aussi à Kensigton, tiens tant qu'à faire)

 

We passed on the panoramic view, but when I go back with Laure, we'll do the visit the other way round and we'll enjoy it then (and while we're visiting gardens, why not throw Kensington into the plan)

 

On continue, devant la serre "Princesse de Galles". En fait, on aurait pu prendre un chemin plus court, mais je dois dire qu'à ce moment j'étais aussi pas mal fatiguée, et je prenais les chemins comme ils venaient...

 

So on we go, to the Princess of Wales conservatory. In fact we could have taken a shorter path  but I must confess that at that point I was pretty exhausted myself, and I just went to whichever place was visible.

Un joli mur d'eau / a very nice waterwall

 Là, je commence à traîner la patte moi aussi, et en plus je dois aller aux toilettes. Heureusement de ce côté tout est prévu et on en a trouvé toutes proches. La boucle est bouclée, on fait quelques pas et on revient sur les endroits du parc qui nous sont familiers !

 

At that point it's getting hard for me too, and I have to go to the toilets. Fortunately as far as that matter is concerned everything is very well organised and we find some not far away. Then we close the loop, we are back at the entrance of the Gardens, where it looks familiar already ! 

Une sculpture moderne / a modern sculpture

On fait même une petite pause, le temps de donner à manger à des bébés canards et de discuter avec une famille de Français qui donnent gentiment du pain à Elise pour qu'elle puisse aussi nourrir un petit, dans sa main.

 

We even take a short break and feed baby ducks, and have a chat with a French family who very nicely share the bread they have with Elise so that she can give it to a baby duck too, from her hand.

Mais avant la sortie, il ne faut pas oublier de passer par la boutique, au moins pour jeter un coup d'oeil...

 

But before we go out, for good, let's not forget to have a look in the shop - and just a look...

Quelle jolie petite serre !! / what a lovely little greenhouse !!

 Et voilà, c'est la fin d'une belle, mais très intense, journée. Enfin, au jardin. Il y a 3/4 d'heure de trajet dans le même métro, directement jusqu'à Towerbridge et la Tour de Londres ! (sur la ligne verte). Allez, on prend notre courage à deux mains et on y va.

So there you are, it's the end of a beautiful but very tiring day. Well, as far as the garden is concerned. We are 3/4 of an hour away from Towerbridge and the Tower of London, on the same metro line (the green one). Oh come on, let's gather up the courage we have left and go there.

  On a encore marché, mais on n'a pas regretté, et le temps était très agréable, et le soir, on a vraiment très bien dormi !!

We walked some more, but we didn't regret anything, and the weather was really pleasant, and that night boy did we sleep well !!
