Vous savez, quand... / You know, when...

... you don't feel good, it's stressful at work and you feel exhausted all the time (so much so that you skip sport practice, you sleep a lot more than usual and you have no energy for your leisure for example)

... you have the occasion to attend a little reunion and thus to take a break, even if two days earlier a nasty virus makes you empty your stomach ?

... you know people virtually, and then you meet them for real, and you feel very comfortable with them and it feels like you've known each other for years and you are part of a big (hearted) family ?

That's what happened tthis week-end, in Belgium, at Daniel Schmitz's rose garden. Fate had it that I could go this year (no written exams to correct, yay !) and it really was the best thing that has happened to me this year (more exactly, this schoolyear, since september). Good thing I didn't let the virus discourage me, I was determined to be a part of this event.

I met a lot of wonderful and nice people, I chatted a lot, I really enjoyed a week-end where the humdrum of work and everyday life was left behind and I feel positive, healthy and perked up again (except for the heatwave that is going to last all week = sigh)

I finally got to meet Isabelle, organiser of the Seeds of Love, talented gardener, lover of roses and author of a book that I will speak about very soon (should have done so already, but had no time !)

There was the christening of the rose "Daniel my friend"

Daniel (the rose grower), Warren Millington (the creator of the rose) and Isabelle (the matchmaker, if I may say so !)

I shot a video of the christening but there is a problem...

Everybody was ready to capture the event
Champagne ! long life to the new and beautiful rose.

And even if I'm back home, and it's all over now, I figuratively raise my glass to friendship, to the wonderful people I met and to my summer holiday.

What a fun post, Carole. I'm so glad you were able to visit the garden and be there for the rose baptism! Now I hope you can relax and enjoy the summer, in spite of the heat wave. We're having one here just now and Wow, the heat certainly saps the energy.
